On May 3, 2019, it was announced that Netflix had given the production a series order for a first season consisting of ten episodes. The series was created and executive produced by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. The series creators say that plans are underway for several subsequent seasons, however, no announcement has been made by Netflix. In June 2020, series showrunner Jonas Pate revealed that Netflix had given them the green light to develop the scripts for Season 2.[6] Several scenes in the series were captured while the cast didn't know the cameras were rolling. This includes a scene between Rudy Pankow (JJ Maybank) and Madison Bailey (Kiara Carrera) in the opening scene of the Pilot episode. When "Kiara" is seen placing sunglasses on "JJ's" face, the actors were unaware of filming and were just goofing around off-camera. The actors claim that several scenes were like this.[7] The cast each kept a memento from the set. J.D. kept the rubber duck Pope finds at the Cameron House, Chase kept John B.'s shoes and bandanas, Rudy kept JJ's lighter, Maddie kept a little keychain pouf that she found at the chateau, and Madison kept her Pogue bracelet.[8] References
